We support your dreams

Artist's note

The artist sees a new world through the camera lens. In addition to people's hearts ravaged by the global pandemic, the artist comforts them through the camera lens. This work, which contains the appearance of the staff participating in this Triennale, was created to communicate with the visitors who come to see the work. As we prepare for the exhibition, we send a little comfort and support to those having a hard time. In particular, the red sportswear worn by the staff in the photo acts as an element representing the difficult lifetimes of us and ordinary people. Like the people who overcame adversity with that red sportswear in the industrialization era of the 70s and 80s, the artist hopes that they will overcome this time anew.

Introduction

As soon as you open the front door of Wadong branch school, you can see the people standing against a wall. It turns out that it is a group photo of people in red sweatsuits taken by the artist. They are members of the curatorial team of Gangwon International Triennale 2021 and staff members of Hongcheon-gun in the sweatsuit symbolizing rebuilding and rehabilitation; artistic director, chief curator, curator, community art project manager, assistant curator, coordinator, the team leader, and curator of Hongcheon-gun. They sat on chairs in front of the camera and posed for a potential audience. Some show thumbs up, and some make a heart sign with their fingers. “We are rooting for your dreams.”
