- History
- Building on the experience of hosting the first Pyeongchang Biennale in 2013, Gangwon Province successfully organized subsequent editions of Biennale. Recently, taking a longer-term vision, an international edition was transitioned into a Triennale format with the first Gangwon Triennale events of Gangwon Artists Show 2019, Gangwon Kids Triennale 2020, and Gangwon Triennale 2021 curated and to be realized in Hongcheon. Among these events, Gangwon Triennale 2021, the main exhibition, will be held in Hongcheon in September this year. Gangwon Triennale is a nomadic project that travels cities and counties in Gangwon Province every three years. The second Gangwon Triennale events of Gangwon Artists Show 2022, Gangwon Kids Triennale 2023, and Gangwon Triennale 2024 will take place in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province.
